About the Ciccone Academy – Melbourne Singing Teachers
The Ciccone Academy has been teaching singing in Melbourne for over 30 years and moved to the Kings Way Studio, South Melbourne in 2014. We teach all styles including jazz, pop, opera, classical, soul and rnb. Using our combined technique or ‘mixed voice’ approach, our students experience increased range and can hit and hold notes consistently. We work with experienced singers and performers and beginners.
About Cosimo Ciccone
Even as a young singer and performer, Cosimo always had a great passion for teaching singing. This passion has led him to the most respected vocal coaches around the world and yet he has always been searching for the correct technique.
When he was 23 Cosimo moved back to his native to Italy where he stayed for 2 years. During this time he landed his first recording contract and released his first album. Even in Italy, Cosimo could not find a singing technique that was consistent.
Like so many singers who have become disenchanted by the empty promises by vocal coaches, Cosimo was still searching for a technique to relieve vocal strain, extend vocal range and improve vocal limits.
In the mid 1990’s Cosimo began studying with Leigh McRae in Sydney. He subsequently decided to travel to Los Angeles to study with one of the world’s eminent vocal coaches. Each year Cosimo spent weeks at a time studying in Los Angeles. He completed his Los Angeles studies in 2007.
The combination and implementation of over 30 years training and experience received from around the world, manifests itself in this Combined Technique, which produces singers with range and strength. It is suitable for all styles including Opera, Pop, RMB, Rock, Jazz etc.
Cosimo performs regularly with his own opera quartet, Voci Classico.
